time is a funny thing.

I don’t know if she recently grew a lot or if I just noticed, but she suddenly looks like a giant to me, especially on this tricycle. She was about 18 months when the neighbors handed it down to her so she couldn’t ride it much then, but there’s something about a bike like this where you can really see how much they’ve grown. She could barely sit on the bike, then would walk it and never used the peddles, then started learning to use the peddles (still working on that) and steering seems to be the most difficult. Watching her learn each phase on this tricycle has been fun, but it tugs at the mama heart strings a bit.

And because I’m being nostalgic, here’s one from a year ago…

And one from when she first got it

afternoon art.

Getting pictures of her is still very hard these days. We’ve had a lot of off days recently and a lot of dark, rainy days. But it makes it that much more special when the sun comes out and I can get a natural smile out of her, even if it was pretty hard to get. This girl loves art activities.
