Ellie celebrated her birthday with some friends from school and a winter wonderland theme at home. She had a really fun time and it was the first party with just her friends that we’ve had at home. They did a fun beaded snowflake craft, had cake and just played. As usual, I got almost no pictures during the party. I’m not great at pulling out the camera at events, especially if I’m in charge of them, but here are a few from before everyone arrived.

She was very excited that winter break ended just in time for her to be back in school for her birthday. If you know Ellie, you know she loves school. I say it every birthday, but I really can’t believe how big she is. 8 feels big to me. She’s also probably about a foot away from my height so soon enough she’ll be taller than me. She’s still our Ellie girl with her determination, love of learning and kind heart, but just with a bit more maturity. She can be so sweet and helpful around the house and almost never puts up a fight when I ask for her help. She’s a great leader and the best big sister. We love her so much!
